Topic: ADI 2 DAC or the new ADI 2 FS?

Hello RME development team,
I want to replace my old ADI-2 soon. It's supposed to be an (ADI-2) RME again.
I have two devices in the shortlist, the ADI-2 DAC and the new ADI-2 FS, which will come on the market this summer.

Most important to me is a very good DA converter, but I could rather something with the AD converter branch of the FS begin, as with the features of the ADI-2 DAC.

So my question:
Will the DA converter of the ADI 2 FS be as good as that of the ADI 2 DAC?

I think DA yes, 100% equal.
On the ADI2DAC the headphones out are a little different, the main headphones a little more power (AFAICS) and an extra IEM output.
Of course the ADI2FS has AD.
Unless you have very special headphones needs, my choice would be ADI2FS.

Proud Owner of the ADI-2FS here.   It is a very highly developed product, without compromise.   The ADI-2 FS is worthy of the highest recommendation!!

You are mixing product names wink
You wrote "ADI-2 FS" which is not available on the market yet.
And your later post #7 makes clear that you talk about the "ADI-2 DAC" instead.

"ADI-2 DAC" is the official product name, the additional "FS" on the front only tells, that the unit has a FS inside.

Other RME products need the "FS" in the official product name to differentiate between old and new products, i.e.:
ADI-2 Pro / AE     vs new ADI-2 Pro FS / ADI-2 Pro FS BE and
ADI-2                  vs new ADI-2 FS (which is not yet available).

My "misnomer" seems understandable, as with every glance at the Unit, I see "fs" silkscreened on the front panel.  smile

Regardless of nomenclature, the RME is a Superb Product, and my positive opinions of it don't change a "femto bit"

My Optic Nerves have been upgraded using only the Finest Audio Grade materials.   

The Eye Lenses are likewise. smile

The "fs" on the unit only means one thing...Auf Deutsch oder Englishe.

...also waiting for that ADI-2 fs...
It would be extremly helpful to have some (preliminary and of course not legally binding...) handbook to solve some questions in between!
- One actual question is if the adjustable output level function is remembered by the device after power down? (or do I have to foresee resistor attenuators in the cables´ connectors, which I am currently configuring)

ADI-2 fs is the box of interest (not ADI-2 DAC fs), probably too many ADIs around...
