Topic: RME UFX + RME digiface usb

Hello,

Is it possible to use RME UFX (blue old version) and RME digiface USB at the same time. I mean can I connect both interfaces via USB to my PC (Windows) and Pro Tools will see all INs and OUTs from both interfaces as some driver will be used (probably).

I've found information that UFX can be connected to digiface via ADAT, which is also an option, but not that convinient.

A DAW can only work with one ASIO driver at a time. As UFX and Digiface USB use two different RME ASIO drivers it's not possible for the DAW to access both interfaces at the same time.

You would have to use the UFX in standalone mode, connect ADAT1 and eventually ADAT2 (2-4 Toslink cables)
and route interesting channels via ADAT to the Digiface USB, using i.e. the Digiface USB as clock master.
