Topic: Gain changed during recording

Hi,

A strange thing happened in my last recording session.
I have UFX+ and XTC connected with MADI. I use TotalMix to control the XTC. Mac and Studio One Pro 4.

I set the gain to 28 for my main 4 channel microphone and it worked well but suddenly in a song channel one started to distort. The song was ruined. I looked at the TotalMix and nothing was changed but when I looked at the XTC the gain was 47 for channel 1! On the XTC I changed back to gain 28 and started a new recording but only a few seconds in the song same problem came back. Once more I changed back to gain 28 on the XTC and this time everything worked fine to the end of the session.

This have never happened before. Thoughts?

Re: Gain changed during recording

Are you remote controlling the device ?

If yes, then you need to take care to choose EITHER Auxdevice OR MIDI Remote, not both.
This can lead to race conditions where some signals become misinterpreted and change settings randomly.

Yes, I Remote control the XTC from my Mac with TotalMix via Midi and MADI.
It was only one channel of eight that changed gain.

Re: Gain changed during recording

Via MIDI and MADI ? Or do you mean the MIDI over MADI feature ?

MIDI over MADI.
