Topic: Hangs (802)

Dear colleagues,

I am having serious hangs on my software sequencer where the program freezes but the sound still goes on, at this point is necessary to turn off the 802 to get back to normal. Otherwise the hang keeps on frozen till crash.

I suppose my beloved 802 is bad?

Any help will be much appreciated smile

Is the driver up to date? Have you tried all available USB ports? Can this be reproduced on another system?

Driver up to date 1167
Tried mostly all USB ports.
I do not have another system.

Does "the sound still goes on" mean that the playback keeps working or does the sound get stuck in a loop?

I don't think this is the 802 or its driver. I have had this a few times over the years and it was always  daw/plugin/graphics card driver related. Some plugins can be very specific about installed graphics drivers and things like dot net versions.

Sound goes on. GUI freezes or crashes. I habe to turn off the 802 to “release it”.
It happens all of a sudden. I can work some hours fine and in a moment zac! Or can happen all the time.

Try to close TotalMix FX (right click on icon in trayicon area).

Does Cubase's GUI freeze or the whole of Windows?

If the former: What happens when you change sample-rate via the Fireface settings dialog?

If the latter: Can you still use CTRL-ALT-DEL?

I need total mix for the ADAT routing due I work with Summing Mixer.

No Cubase, Ableton freezes only, no Windows. When change sample rates nothing happens. It just change...

I can use CTRL-ALT-DEL
