Topic: Adding RME HDSP PCI to an existinc HDSP PCIe system

Will adding a HDSP PCI card and multiface to an existing system using a HDSP PCIe (express) card significantly slow down my system? I've enjoyed the PCIe card for several years and would like to add a few channels and have a chance to buy a PCI version for very cheap (plus, I don't have any open PCI express slots on my board).

Your mobo does have a PCI slot I suppose...
Then no it will not slow it down at all.
PCIe has higher bandwidth so more channels are possible per slot, that is all. That`s why I guess the HDSP9652 has 3 adats and the raydat 4 ports.
There is no latency difference between PCI and PCIe devices.

There are PCI Extension Boxes for PCIe available for around 200 Euros.
Have one of them, so i can use up to 4 PCI card on on PCIe Slot . Works good so far ....
