Topic: Mac mini and Fireface UFX+ - USB/thunderbolt 3 glitches resolved?

Hi, friends of RME,

I have an Fireface UFX+ and I'm going to buy a Mac mini (last generation i7, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd).
However, I've heard that there were some problems with USB/thunderbolt 3 connections.

I just want to know if the problem were resolved before I buy the Mac mini.

Many thanks for your time,
Ricardo Verdelho

Hi Ricardo,
there never was a problem with Thunderbolt, only with USB and that seems to be resolved for most users.
In case you still encounter problems using USB you could connect the UFX+ via Thunderbolt (using the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter), so no need to worry.

USB audio dropouts caused by the Gatekeeper chip in the USB-C Macs was fixed in a recent Mac OS update.
