Topic: Feature request: signal generator in TotalMix FX

Apologies if this has been requested before. I own a UFX+ which I use in conjunction with various mic pres and mixing consoles to record and broadcast classical music. I often have quite complex signal routing between many devices, analogue and digital.

It would be useful to be able to route test signals to the outputs of my UFX+ unit, straight from TotalMix. Maybe the oscillator (and its settings) could be a panel on the right-hand side, and each individual output could have a switch on it which would route the oscillator output to it. Usual tones would be useful: sine, pink/white noise, freq select, level select, and what I'd call 'glitz', i.e. a stereo signal of a 1kHz test tone with a periodic single gap in the left channel and a periodic double gap in the right channel.

This would help me get my rig set up and checked much more quickly, and mean that when others further down the broadcast chain ask for tone I don't need to route something from my DAW.

Re: Feature request: signal generator in TotalMix FX

Not sure whether RME will implement such add-on functionalities.

As a workaround for the time being I could only recommend the following options which are also easy to use:

a) as you own a device with DURec .. you could record such a track with any instrument (one note for left- and two notes for right panned as you say and playback using DURec).
You could also use a small playback device connected to AN1/2

b) for any other devices without DURec:

use a portable small MP3 player like this: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Speake … YTK9MZC9KB

And then an Y-cable like this: https://www.thomann.de/de/sommer_cable_ … cg_6_3_n_0
