It looks like driver is waiting for FF800 power up, but never resolve it. I tried the switch to legacy driver trick with the same result. Can be this an installation issue with windows 10 1903 ver.? I have no other firewire device to try in the port...

Can anyone help me please? I need to know whats failing. And another question is: If the out FW port from the FF800 fails or burn (it is a posibility), can I connect the unit usig the available FW800 (from unit) to FW400 (computer PCIe port) with a FW 800-400 cable??

Thanks in advance!

Re: FF800 and Windows 10 driver installation problem

I did not have the issue to the extent you have but after installing the 1903 update the TotalMixFX icon was not in my taskbar and the shortcut to it I had on my Desktop had disappeared.  However, just reinstalling the software did the trick and fixed things.  Oh, and I did also have to install the Legacy IEEE 1394 Firewire driver.  I had actually done that first: I got a heads up in an article about needing to replace your graphics and other drivers after installing 1903.

This may only help you in lending some weight to it being a software issue and not a problem with your hardware. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Peace

Re: FF800 and Windows 10 driver installation problem

Finally problem was a chipset incompatibility from the Startech's PCIe card:
