Topic: Fireface 800 - can I just use Firewire 800 to USB adapter?

May be silly question, but I'm trying to think if my $$$ invetsment in a Fireface 800 still worth it when I upgrade computer and have no Firewire in it...  Anyone ''converted'' a ''firewire only'' RME to USB through just tone of those adapters ?

Any issue ?

Windows ?

Noen of these adapters work for audio streaming. Mentioned for years several times in this forum.

And how about FW to Thunderbolt ?

I was reading in older posts that it could work with 2 adapters in series, TB3 male -> TB2 female, and TB2 male -> FW800 female.

That post is from 2017... What is the status 2 years later ? Some have done (are doing) that ?

This is thunderbolt to Firewire ....
