Topic: UFX II Latency in Ableton 10.1

Hey guys,

I've had a few set backs in the first few day of having this interface, one being that when I play my tracks through my DAW I experience latency by almost a sec. Wondering if anyone has had this issue with the latest driver for windows 10? I tried enabling the "reduce latency" function and that did not do anything.

I also see that people are using the ADAT, and this is something new I can't really seem to get an understanding on, as far as the benefits of using this oppose to an xlr in/out.

Any information about what I can do to get all my proper settings and software up to date.

You most probably use a master FX that causes this latency.

ADAT gives 8 channels digital I/O at up to 48 kHz. That's all.

And ADAT2 can be set to optical SPDIF protocol which is nice if the other device requires it (if ADAT is not supported/needed).

Also nice for galvanic isolation to avoid ground loop issues.

At higher sample rates (double / quad speed) expect a reduction of channels when using ADAT protocol, as two of the eight are needed to get 88.2/96 by multiplexing. 4 are needed to support ie 192 KHZ. So 1 ADAT port supports only 4ch@96 and 2ch@192 kHz.

SPDIF has always 2 channels per definition and thus at all supported sample rates up to 192 kHz.

Great thanks. So you think it's the plugins and VSTs is what you're saying? It's around 40% CPU usage and wouldn't expect to hear drop outs, but that it also happening.

Another issue I'm having is that I can't hear any playback from my computer's audio in Totalmix FX. Can anyone help me with setup for routing the audio in Windows 10?

As far as Live and cpu usage is concerned this might be worth trying.

It made a huge improvement on my Mac and seems to work for other people as well. For whatever reason Live 10 seems to really thrash the Mac Windowserver unless the frame rate is lowered. Makes no visible difference to Live by the way.

As for ADAT, it's only relevant if you want to connect two audio devices together using it ADAT has nothing at all to do with analogue XLR preamps.
