Topic: Babyface Pro high latency, no sound and/or massive crackles below 2048

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get my Babyface Pro working correctly in Cubase. At the moment, if I set the buffer size below 2048 samples in the Fireface USB settings, then I will not hear any midi triggered sound.

When I set it to 2048 samples, my soft synths work but it says my input and output latency is 47ms.

In my midi controller drivers (Komplete Kontrol), it gives me massive amounts of static and crackling if I set the buffer below 2048. At 2048 it seems to work OK, but again the latency is high.

I think I've done all the usual things, like optimize windows 10 for audio, make sure it's running in high performance mode etc, and I've also used LatencyMon to look for problems but it doesn't report anything.

Can anyone help me?

Wondering why you should need an ASIO buffersize of 2048.
Look for what I can use 32 samples.
Can you pls describe your Cubase Project more.
Under what load is your system when you have the issues (CPU load).
Do you have background jobs running ?
How is the DPC latency of your system (-> LatencyMon)
