Topic: FF800 + TotalMix Problem

Hi there. Ive bought FF800 recently and i`m so looking forward to start using it. However, i`m still not able.

The problem is that (Windows 10) i can see the FF800 drives in the Device Manager but it has exclamation mark on it. Ive tried numerous times to "check for new updates", but it`s already up to date. Also, i have the TotalMix and and the Fireface settings icons in the toolbar, but however i can`t open them. I really have no idea what to do and i really wanna fix that issue. Help!

P.S. The connection in between my PC and the Fireface is through a PCIe card Allegro FW800 which has TI chipset.


Looking forward for help in order to leave my focusrite behind and get into the pro audio.

Windows 10 cannot update the driver, you have to download from RME's website. Here is the link:

You can try the other FireWire ports of the FF800, in case there is a broken port. Also, your FW800 cable could be defective.

Google legacy firewire driver for win 10 and install and try that.

Done. Ive managed to install properly the FF driver and now the TotalMix is running which is great. However, now can u help me with the routing. I`ve just noticed that my Ableton10 is lagging extremely.. It needs to be something with the fact i`ve just installed new hardware, but i dont get it what`s the problem and also, i`m trying to play something from Winamp as a test, but once again, no sound. I can only see static noise in the mixer view in the TotalMix
