Topic: Digiface USB

Hello

I am  new here, so I hope I posted this question on the right topic

This morning I get a Digiface USB, I install the driver, its work
but I have connected the digiface to the USB port on my computer.
After that i connected 3 Denon pma 60 with toslink to the digiface

But i get only from 1 channel sound?

What do i wrong, are the digiface only for sending stereo , or can i make 4 different channels with sound, each to his own Denon receiver

regards

p.s can I place a screenshot from my settings here?

Re: Digiface USB

Hello and welcome!
This is, indeed, the right topic.

I assume you have connected each Denon to an ADAT Out port of the DigiFace with a TOSLINK cable, each.

Now you need to open DigiFace Settings, and set Clock Source to "Internal".
Then you need to set each respected output of the DigiFace to "SPDIF".

After these two steps you need to setup your audio software.

If you want ASIO operation, you need to go to the device setup menu of your software and select "MadiFace ASIO".
If it does not support ASIO, you need to open the DigiFace Settings, again, and set the respected outputs as WDM Devices.

This is the basic setup, but perhaps you will need to set the routing at TotalMixFx as well !

Please report back, if you have any problems!

Re: Digiface USB

Also, what sample rate are you using?
And which application?

thx for welcome,

yes let my try to explain, again sorry for my bad English
I have 1 computer with a RME HDSP AOI
so the problem are I have on this card 1 digital output, and my wish are

3x a Denon pma60 connected with toslink
I am using now 48kHz sample rate
when everything are working I want to use this al in DAW Reaper

on this moment 1 Denon are working , but the another channels are silent on my digiface.

Or did I make a mistake , because I connected now the Digiface with USB to my computer?
maybe I have to connected the digiface with the RME HDSP AOI card?

I wil try first u answer

Re: Digiface USB

You 're welcome!

You didn't do any mistake!
Thing is, I don't know if they use the same driver, but since one of your connections is working, the problem lies elsewhere.

Since you use reaper, try my suggestion about ASIO, and report back!
Sorry, but I forgot to ask, are you on windows? Or are you using a Mac?

Re: Digiface USB

I using Windows 10 64bit on my pc,

In Reaper I can select the asio from the Digiface, and then I select the outputs I need.

But I want to give every instrument his own channel with the Denon.
I select by example my keyboard on Adat 1/2
My guitar sound I select to Adat 3/4
The piano I select Adat 5/6

So I see on every reaper channel action, but on hardware side only 1 Denon give a signal.
The another outputs on th Digiface are silent

Re: Digiface USB

Ahh, I see!

Then it must be a routing problem!

Open TotalMixFx
Since you can hear your first Denon, I assume you have ADAT1/2 as your Main Output.

On the third row of TotalMix, click on ADAT9/10 so it becomes highlighted.
With that highlighted go to the second row(software outputs) and raise the first fader(labelled ADAT1/2)
That would be your second Denon.

And finally, click on ADAT17/18 so it becomes highlighted.
With that highlighted go to the second row and raise the first fader, again.
That would be your third Denon.

Now you can hear playback from Reaper, in all three Denons

EDIT: Or you can send your signals directly!
          Keyboard on ADAT1/2
          Guitar on 9/10
          Piano 17/18

I think, now, you should be ok!
Please report back!

Re: Digiface USB

This is because, when you are using SPDIF, on TotalMixFx the channels remain as ADAT.
But SPDIF is stereo, so it's only the first stereo pair of each ADAT stream(the first two of the eight channels).
