Topic: Fireface UCX USB port damaged

The USB port on my Fireface UCX was damaged due to a VBUS overvoltage.
The UCX still works perfectly by using the Firewire port instead.
Does anyone know which protection components are located between the USB B port and
the USB transceiver are susceptible to VBUS overvoltage damage?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram of just the USB protection section of the Fireface UC or UCX?

Re: Fireface UCX USB port damaged

I can answer my own question since by luck I found a photo of the USB section of a Fireface UC:

The USB transceiver IC USB3250 does not connect to the VBUS according to it's datasheet
so it is most likely undamaged.

The problem is therefore probably limited to VD900 which is an USBLC6-2 ESD protection IC.

Also, from the following video at 5:09 I know that there are no additional USB protection components on the reverse side of the board:

Re: Fireface UCX USB port damaged

Did you get this fixed? I have a UCX as well, it isn't broken. Just wondered how you were doing with this.
BTW, these guys;

do mods to the Fireface 400. They might work on the UCX for you.

Good luck with the repair.
