Topic: New UCX , now Ableton sessions are very glitchy over 20%cpu

Hi, I bought a fireface UCX interface for my 2012 MacBook Pro with siera 10.12. I can record vocals into it fine on a fresh session with cpu at like 5-10% when I open up a full session my CPU is at 50-70% (which worked fine on my focusrite 2i2) but now the session is so crackly, beyond workable. Does anyone know a fix?

I updated my laptop to the new Mac os Catalina but now Ableton won't open. So don't know if is fixed. So timemachined it back to original Sierra .

What buffer size are you using and what happens at bigger sizes? It's well possible that your old interface used a bigger safety-buffer. If it is still around then try to match the latency in ms instead of matching buffer size in samples (hoping that the Focusrite reports proper latency values).
