Straightforward question. I spin CDs and use my ADI-2 DAC for the digital to analog conversion. I have a very cheap disc player with coaxial digital out which does the job without problem. Would I get any sound improvement, even a very subtle one, if I buy a dedicated CD transport? Would the CD transport offer some sonic advantage or nothing at all? Preamp, power amp and loudspeakers are top top top level units.
There wlil be no sound difference. As long as the transport spits out bit perfect 16 bit (which is the case unless the transport is defective), our SteadyClock technology removes the only reason a sound change could occur - jitter.

Of course there are audible diferrences between CD transports.
Borrow smthng from your local audio gear shop and you will hear ;-) .

This is very true. But being an audiophile is addictive and a addict will say anything to rationalize his needs. So dance to the music. Make love to life and don't idolize the holy grail of perfect audio reproduction.
