Topic: Problem with XLR connection Fireface UC

Dear all,

Hi to everyone, I am new in the forum !
I have a fireface UC since almost one year and I was quite happy about it.
Today, during a recording session, my XLR imput 1 (mic) stopped working suddentely.
I changed to imput 2, it worked for 10 minutes and it stopped also...
With Jack no problem, I have a signal but with XLR (I tried many cables and microphones dinamyc / cardioid with or without +48) I have no signal at all !

Help ! Any ideas ?

Phantom power turned off (if needed)?

Unfortunately no... Phantom power is on...
I also tried with a dynamic mic, not working (without phantom power).
What's very strange, it started first with imput 1 and then the imput 2...
It was working and suddently not anymore.
Maybe a composant burned ? But how ??

No idea. You should send the unit in for service. Unless a TotalMix Total Reset and checking the Loopback option of channels 1/2 doesn't give news.

Hi, many thanks for your answer.

As you can see it's very problematic as I can not use any microphone with XLR connection.
It's the same problem with cardiod mic (+48 on or not).

The TRS line input is fed to the mic input circuit as well, so the mic amp as such is still working. That leaves the XLR connector and a few passive components as culprit. But doesn't explain technically why and what happened on both channels. Anyway, service required...
