Topic: Route ASIO output back into Win system for remote desktop
Hey there,
I'm working with someone remotely who's running Cubase, using an RME HDSPe fed to some Lynx converters. I need to be able to help them remotely with various tasks like file management, template building, stem exporting etc. We use teamviewer for this which works well enough. We communicate over the phone, not via mic inputs.
I dont really need to record them or remote mix, but the problem I'm having is remote desktop solutions will pick up the audio stream from Windows easy enough (ie. play back a mix in Winamp and is good). But I need Teamviewer to pick up the ASIO audio stream from Cubase/HDSPe so I can actually hear what I am doing. On their end, I can select what output/device I wish to use for audio output but I guess ASIO is entirely separate to this. I guess looping back this audio in TotalMix to an imput or somesuch.
But I cant quite figure out how to do this. I've looked at alternative options like Source Connect Now (same issue). VST Connect Pro (not really designed for what I want). Voxengo Recorder (32 bit only). Source Connect Nexus (Mac Only). Options like Voicemeeter banna which appear to offer similar functionality to what TotalMix can do. I'm looking to avoid any physical routing options as I cant be at their studio to do that.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
