Topic: 16” 2019 Macbook and Firewire FF800

Hi

I have a fireface 800 and Ive tested with Mojave and Catalina on a 2015 Macbook with the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter.  It works fine.

I want to buy the newest macbook pro 16” but Ive read about audio issues with firewire interfaces.

I cannot find confirmation of if this is fixed yet.

There could be an upcoming issue with "defective" T2 chips. Could be hardware, or T2 firmware.

As usual, Apple is very tightlipped about it. There are a few bug reports from the corporate sector, so let's hope that will get things moving and it can be resolved with a firmware update.

Yes,  people seem to be talking about issues in macbooks with the T2 chips.  Here is one example of a claim here :

I personally went ahead and bought another mid-2015 15" Macbook pro and Im happy with it.
