Topic: Fireface 802 + iPad Air 2 + Tidal Master Audio = crackling noise?

Hi,

Im new to the forum but I’ve been using RME since 13 years now.

Recently I changed my listening setup at home where I have an iPad Air 2 with latest iOS connected to my Fireface 802. I have a Tidal Subscription and when I play tracks in Master Mode, I set my totalMixFX setting to 96kHz. However I hear high frequency crackling noises in my Klein&Hummel O300 speakers.
When I listen to albums in HiFi quality that does not exist?!

More information: I use the volume control of the Kh810 Sub from Neumann and go 0dBFS into the sub with the high gain setting. The total mix does not show clipping.the crackling noise “Knacksen” is no matter how loud or quiet I turn the speakers, so I think it comes from the interface.


Anyone with the same issue?

Whatever app you use on the iPad needs to have an option to raise the buffer size, to prevent dropouts at higher sample rates. Maybe your app has...
