Topic: Midi map for TotalMixFX

I'm trying to have 2+ buttons do some simple things. Toggle a Mute group and maybe call up some snapshots.

And I want to use a cute little Korg Nanopad to do it. The Arc is great, but I do not have one. I do have a bunch of controller gear, some of them spares for units I use in mixing. The Nanopad can generate cc and notes. It's easy to setup to send anything you want.

I could find no help in the manual.

Is there a map of stuff available I can trigger for Totalmix FX via a midi device ?

Re: Midi map for TotalMixFX

Sidenote, I've already found this post by Deny.
https://www.forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?pid=115338

In post 4 of that thread a handbook is mentioned, which I simply could not find. There appears to be a list of midi notes listed as toggles that could be used to trigger the function I need. It's not on his list in the thread, and since the handbook (Handbuch, nett) is elusive, my question remains unanswered.

I could not find documentation for Totalmix FX on RMEs website. The cute little document that comes with Totalmix FX is not what fellow use Ramses was referring to in post #4 of the linked-to thread. Perhaps it's located somewhere alongside Totalmix FX but I have yet to find it.

Do any of you have a copy of that handbook ?
RME , do you have a list of midi triggers handy that you could post ? Any format is fine.

I found a list in this forum post:
https://www.forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=22697
which leads to this link for a list of midi commands

So there's nothing to trigger mute groups or activate/deactivate fader groups. Shame, so I'll have to make do with Snapshots. So it goes.

This list and a proper manual has to be in the manual section because I could not find this within a minute of searching on your website. Drivers, product info, forums, all are easy to find, but manuals for Totalmix were NOT among them.

The CHM that comes with the Windows version is not it. It's also a document that could use some work, at least for the English version. I'm a native speaker of both German and Englisch and it was below average in terms of readability and clarity. I've written manuals for software and there's a lot to improve in the English CHM file for Totalmix FX.

Re: Midi map for TotalMixFX

Yet you missed it all: TM FX is described in all details in the manual of your RME interface! All interfaces! Which one you have you did not disclose, though.

If that is an older unit/manual then simply download one of the latest ones for more current products. TM FX is basically identical for all.

Re: Midi map for TotalMixFX

Interesting. Thank you for pointing that out.

The printed manual is likely somewhere, though it's from the beta testing of the hardware so it's probably out of date.

Re: Midi map for TotalMixFX
