Hi all. As the title says, my Fireface has stopped being recognized by computers. Power supply over the BUS works as expected, no weird noises and everything seems to work but only in Host mode. Using external power supply doesn't change anything.

A friend checked the main board and he realized that TI Firewire controller has a short circuit on some of the pins. TPBIAS 0, TPBIAS 1, AGND, TPA1+ and TPA1-, are shorted. Checked caps with no luck, no one is shorted. Obviously with this kind of short circuit over the voltaje supply lines, ground and data pairs the controller can not work.

Without circuit diagrams it is almost impossible to diagnose it but after hours of testing I'm considering that Firewire controller is the component shorted and should be replaced.

Are there similar known cases?
