Topic: Optical cable tip broken inside
I somehow managed to break the tip of an optical cable inside an RME 9632 ADAT input.
Any suggestions on how to get it out without causing damage to my card?
Thx

Magnifying glass and small tweezers plus some feeling...
just thinking will -careful not to loose any other loose parts- vacuum cleaning also work if you cannot reach it?
Supposing you still have the defective cable, you could put a tiny drop of superglue on the end of the fiber.
Then plug it in, wait a minute, pull out.
I used to repair broken Macbook Pro optical 3,5 mm jacks this way. You can't get in there with tweezers.
Yes I once got a broken cinch pin out of a hifi amp with a drop of super glue on the point of a needle. I thought of that myself but was nevertheless surprised it worked lol.
Thx guys. No tweezers or needles could do the job.
The glue trick worked like a charm.
A bit of glue on end of the cable, pushed it in the broken part inside the ADAT insert, left for a night just to be sure and pulled it out easile the next morning.
