Topic: Fireface 400 crash

Hello,

the Fireface 400 suddenly crashes my computer when playing audio. This is followed by a loud sound from the loudspeakers.

On Mac the interface is not recognized at all and the red "HOST" light is on.

driver reinstall without success. There was no update or similar on Windows, so the defective driver must be due to the device.

The error occurred suddenly and before that everything had worked without problems.

Re: Fireface 400 crash

Did you make any changes to the system? If the unit is connected to external power, try another one... Or another FW cable.

Re: Fireface 400 crash

The Fireface had destroyed my PCI Express Firewire card and the Fireface had blown up capacitors and a defective Firewire chip. Now everything is repaired.

I find it a bit disappointing that obviously this is not a single case that fireface can destroy pci express cards through firewire connection and especially that fireface had bloated capacitors.
