Topic: Hdspe midi stops working

I have an older cheese grater Mac Pro running Sierra. I recently reinstalled the OS (Sierra) and now, midi stops working after about 10 mins. I have replaced every cable, tried a different pci slot, and legacy drivers. I have flashed the cards firmware to 14.

I cannot find the issue..

I am currently at a loss..

More details, please. Which software is in use? What exactly "stops working"?

Hello thanks for looking at this.

Its any software.. I'm analysing with Snoize Midi Monitor currently. I use Logic and Pro Tools.

I have tried..

Mac OS Sierra 12.5
Mac OS High Sierra 13.1

I have tried removing RAM sticks. Reseating the card in a different slot.

What happens is that the midi behaves completely normally, and then after a few minutes, generally after a period of inactivity (but not always) what should be note data says "Stop" or  "Reset" or "Clock" command.

I have changed all cables.
I have changed the source to a different keyboard.

I am now about to try a different manufacturers USB midi interface to see what happens there, but first impressions are that this one still works whilst the RME doesn't.

Midi OUT seems unaffected.

I have the latest driver 4.17 and have tried the legacy driver as well.

This Mac and Card was working well together until I reinstalled the OS. I have another HDSPe card to try as well. It is very strange.

Are we talking about incoming or outgoing MIDI? What's the exact setup?

Midi out from the computer seems unaffected.

midi In to the computer is the problem..

Midi Out of Music Keyboard ( several different ones tried.)
connected to midi in on HDSPe

nothing in between.

So after swapping this card to another computer, the problem persists. i can only assume therefore that it is the card itself. I have refreshed the Firmware to v14 but to no avail.

Before I return the card for service, where can i get a copy of a previous version of the Firmware please?
