Topic: TotalMix FX 1.66 not responding

Hi there,

I have a babyface pro for about a year now.
I'm running MacOS 10.4.6
Everything was working fine till the last update (Drivers 3.19-TotalMix FX 1.66)
I've also done the latest firmware update.

My problem is that totalmix starts normally and behaves as it supposed to, for 1-2 minutes.
After i close the window(not quit the app), the app becomes unresponsive.
On the task manager i get 100% CPU utilization(1 of the 4 cores).
I have to Force quit and restart the app.
I have a suspicion it's something with MacOS quartz related.

I then tried to install the previous version(3.18) which was working fine, but didn't did the trick.Still unresponsive.

Do you have any idea how to fix that?
Anybody encountered this?

Which Apple model ? In case it might have something to do with the CPU or graphics card or drivers.

I'm working on a :
MacBook Pro 15" Retina Mid 2012
2,3 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1GB
Intel Graphics HD 4000 1536MB

again, i had no issue using totalmix fx 1.63
just after i updated to 1.66

now i reverted to 1.63.
seem a little more stable than 1.66(which it stops responding in seconds)

Don't know if i should-can downgrade the Babyface pro firmware also.

Use the current driver but replace TM FX with this legacy build:

Was that a typo? Such an old OS requires a much older driver. Try USB driver 2.20, maybe that one works stable for you.

I installed Totalmix 1.66 LB and still got the same issue,

after a while stops responding, i have to force quit totalmix fx, relaunch it, and my scene (a modified scene for a specific record session) was resetting. i had to use my old interface to finally accomplish the record session.

I continue using my old interface...Totalmix FX update did my workflow with Babyface pro unusable.

Still haven't figured it out..

Babyface pro
After installing TotalmixFX 1.66 on MacOSX 10.14.6, TotalmixFX freezes after a few seconds or when i link as Stereo two input channels.

Tried Manual uninstall of totalmix and USB Drivers, but nothing worked.

Right now using the latest TotalmixFX 1.72 with the latest firmware.

Everything works fine on a windows system i have.

But i mostly work on my MacBook.

Any ideas?

Most probably you have some background app running that interferes with TM FX. Can't tell you what. To check this theory you would need to backup your system and perform a clean reinstall, or install on an external drive and boot from there.
