Topic: [Solved] Dante Digiface and Dante Controller issues with Mac Network
My system is very simple:
MacBook Pro using MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
RME Dante Digiface 64 I/O USB 3.0 Interface
Yamaha DM2000 Mixer with 2 x Dante MY 16 AUD-2
RME TotalMix - Fireface USB Settings
Pro Tools 2019.12.0
In March 2020 I experimented with 96kHz and 48kHz settings in the Dante Controller, all worked perfectly, and I saved both presets.
Currently, my system is working great and I can play and mix my Pro Tools sessions at 48kHz, I can also record via the Digiface Dante.
The big problem surfaced this week when I tried to change the Dante Controller to 96kHz - the Controller was surprisingly blank, I tried to load a 96kHz XML but nothing happened.
Back in March, I was able to change the Dante Controller to 48kHz to 96kHz and back again, but now the Dante Controller is blank, although the system is still working perfectly but at 48kHz.
I have up-dated the Dante Controller, Fireface USB Settings, and the Flash Firmware but still the Dante Controller is blank, although the system still works.
The anomalies I have noticed are:
MacOS system preferences - Network
There is no connection with the Digiface Interface even though the IP 169.254.173.54
255.255.0.0 is set correctly and hasn't been altered.
In the Dante Controller, I'm having to use the shared Dante Interface as there is no IP 169.254.173.54 in the drop-down menu anymore, probably because the Network between the Mac and Digiface are not seeing each other.
Has anyone experienced this problem recently and found or discovered a remedy and fix?
I'd like to switch between 48kHz and 96kHz especially to mix an important recording but alas the system won't let me.
Many thanks,
Tommy
