Topic: Connecting T.C. Finalizer to Babyface Pro FS

I have just found that I should be able to connect my T.C. Finalizer to my new Babyface Pro FS with an optical cable. That would save me buying some XLR cables and some space. Is this recommended and is it the same good sound quality that the line ins will give me or better?

Better, because loss free (no AD or DA conversion).

Very good, and do I set BFP FS as Master clock?

Basically you are free to choose, but as Master would be better as it follows all sample rate changes on the computer.

Excellent Matthias - looking forward to try.

It works very well and this has just got me another 2 inputs big_smile

The Finalizer (presently master clock) runs at 96 kHz and going into the BFP FS (Optical in) but I wonder if I should keep it at 44.1 kHz when my Elektron Octatrack going into the Finalizer runs at 44.1kHz? Or will it always be better with the higher sample rate?
