Topic: High Pitched Aliasing Sound + Not able to update firmware

I have a problem with my RME Fireface UC.
The unit connects to my computer, but there is a high frequency aliasing sound audible on the output. This occurs both on my current Mac and on my former mac so I assume it's an issue with the unit itself.

I have tried updating the drivers, which worked. Updating the firmware does not work however.. I have tried a couple of times updating using the Flash Update Tool, and the progress bar is shown, but when turning the unit on/off the firmware is still on the old version.(it's stuck on v86)

I also recently replaced the charger, because it was broken. Bax sent me a different looking version from the original. Could it have something to do with this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: High Pitched Aliasing Sound + Not able to update firmware

The oldest Mac firmware I can find is v115 from 2011, so there seems something very wrong here. Is that unit in AP mode?

Hey Matthias,

Yes, it's weird. And I have been able to update successfully in the past.
Yes, it is in AP mode. I am sure of that.

Then best thing seems to be to send it in for checking.
