Topic: Function Keys not working when Total Mix is running in the background

Hi,

I am trying to set up Function Keys to control TotalMix, but they do not work when the App is running in the background.
E.g. pressing F4 to "Toggle Totalmix Windows" is not toggling, it only hides the window but cannot bring it back.

Did this ever work on Mac?

I am on macOS 10.14.6 and TotalMix FX 1.72.

Its IMHO the usual application behaviour in a multi-window GUI/environment, that function keys only work for
either the active window or the desktop.

A window usually becomes active by: mouse-click, mouse over window, window in full-screen mode.

For Windows you can use AutoHotkey as workaround for this:

Maybe there is a similar way to get it to work this way for Mac (either by a GUI "trick" or also add-on tools).

It says 'Windows' - more than one. Then it should work.

If I have two TotalMix Windows open it just hides both.

Ok, riddle untwisted: this option came in for the ARC USB. It hides and unhides all currently existing TM windows. Using the F-keys it can hide, but not unhide. We might remove this option from the F-key list in a later version to avoid confusion.

Yes, I use it all the time on the ARC USB, such a useful piece of hardware. And I now mapped the toggle to the prog key on my other (old) ARC which is close to the laptop keyboard, so I have it at hand and don’t need it on the function keys.
