Topic: Fireface UC + Ableton + Expert Sleepers ES-8 andADAT

Hi, I am trying to get ES-8 to work with my modular and Ableton. Really not understanding this. How do I get the signal in to Ableton. There is something sending from the modular but I can't get it to work.

Can you please describe the setup / cabling ?

Yeah, I have:

ADAT cable "IN" on the UC
ADAT cable "OUT" from the ES-8

When I run sound on the modular it "sounds" in to the UC, it shows in HW inputs "AS 1/2" and "ADAT 3/4" + HW output "ADAT 3/4"
Thing is I get sound when pressing "CUE" on the HW output "ADAT 3/4" in my phones but nothing to record.

Please add information about your HW+OS to the signature, then you do not need to remember to add such information.
This saves the time not having to search in old postings from you for such informations, many thanks.

Please send a screenshot of the TM FX window in submix mode when HW Output ADAT 3/4 is selected.
I want to see whether there is an input signal on HW Input ADAT 3/4.
Because ... if pressing CUE on HW Output 3/4 sends audio .. well then it needs to come from somewhere ...
Maybe from ADAT 3/4 IN .. but if there is a signal ... well then you should see it also in the DAW ....

Many thanks.

Ok, in TM FX top row you can see audio signals arriving at AS 1/2 and ADAT 3/4.
Hardware inputs are always passed through to the application.
So you should see a signal in your DAW as well and be able to record it.
Currently I see no reason for it why this shouldn't work.

So strange, wonder why I can’t hear anything. But I should be able to select one if these as input on an audio track yes? Maybe I am missing something fundamental here... Never used ADAT with this before.

In Cubase you have to perform two things:
a) select RME ASIO driver for Windows
b) define input and output ports

Maybe you missed to define a stereo input port for ADAT 3/4.
