Topic: Weird limitation with TotalMix Remote
Hey there,
ever since learning about Totalmix Remote I've been a huge fan of using it on my iPad... However, when the time came to use it on my PC I immediately ran into some issues. It would seem that you cannot host your Totalmix session on the same PC that you're using the remote on, let me explain. Essentially I have 3 PCs all with RME interfaces (that are interconnected with ADAT mind you), and I would like the option to control all 3 interfaces on each PC respectively plus on my iPad. Unfortunately this doesn't seem possible as Totalmix itself hogs the port that Totalmix Remote needs to attach to to operate, causing Totalmix Remote to error out while attempting to attach to it.
I hope this doesn't come off as snarky or negligent, and I understand that this is probably by design, but I would think there would be a more elegant solution. I'm surprised there's a separate application to make this happen in the first place, one would think it would all be built in to Totalmix itself so you wouldn't have two applications attempting to bind to the same port... Not to mention that being able to control the interface directly connected to the client as well as the the interfaces connected to other hosts in a single instance of "Totalmix", or in other words one application, seems super appealing.
I'm assuming there is no solution to this "problem", but I'm all ears to any suggestions.
