Topic: AVB Controller onMac No boot.

I bought Digiface AVB for my 12mic.
On Mac OS 10.13, it launches total mix and fireface settings, and also launches the RME AVB Controller.
However, on Mac OS 10.15, total mix and fireface settings are launched, but RME AVB Controller is not launched.

The Mac OS 10.13 machine is a thunderbolt2 mac.
The Mac OS 10.15 machine is a thunderbolt3 mac.
The cable is stock.
The thunderbolt3 to USB3.0 conversion is also
This is a genuine apple conversion.

Even with a USB3.0 to thunderbolt3 cable without a conversion adapter, only the AVB controller will not boot.


The driver is up to date
Both USB setting and Total mix are running.


However, only AVB Controller is trying to start, and it won't start.
The driver is the same for both the network version of 3.19_4 and the non-network version, only the AVB controller does not start up.

Firmware V2.19 Driver V3.19 Network AVB controller V 0.9541
The problematic Mac OS 10.15 machine isMac Book Pro 16-inch 2019 2.6GHz 6Core i7


What could be the cause?

Thanks for the reply.
I checked that too, but nothing appears on the security and privacy screen.

Nothing appears on the Allow Access screen either. I went into recovery mode and set it to low security, but that didn't help.

On the Accessibility screen, in the Allow applications to control the computer screen below, add the AVB controller and check the box, no change.

Only the AVB controller won't boot.

You (the user) do not have the required rights to access network interfaces. As a quick fix:

- download Wireshark from here: https://www.wireshark.org

- launch the downloaded dmg file

- in the window popping up click on and thus install the ChmodBPF.pkg

- Now the RME AVB Controller should work


This issue seems to be caused by a Mac update. Do you use 10.15.7?

Just a follow up: we fixed the installer and the new download will now work directly even under macOS 10.15.7. The AVB controller itself is unchanged, still 0.9541.
