Topic: Unwanted metronome like audio click over headphones on Babyface Pro

Problem:
Babyface Pro generates audio click over headphones when connected to iPad via CCK

Description:
Babyface Pro running on mains adapter connected to iPad Air via Camera Connection Kit. CC mode is set, audio copy to phones is set. Operation in Cubasis normal.
When power (mains) is disconnected, Babyface LEDs go out (good), but a mechanical clicking/ticking starts inside of the Babyface (like a quartz clock) and an audio click (maybe 60 to 80bpm) can be heard over the headphones. The Babyface is still connected to the iPad via CCK. If I pull the USB cable from the CCK, the ticking stops.

Can anyone explain this phenomenon? Is it a bug or a feature?
