Topic: Fireface 800 digital noise outputs 3-4, 7-8

A year ago I used my FF 800 for an 8-channel audio piece and all was fine, now channels 3-4 and 7-8 emit digital noise along with audio content. I use the main outs all the time no problem. Nothing has changed in my studio -- same connections, same software, cables good, speakers good. Is the unit crapping out or is there something here I have not tried?

What I would do : Firmware update and driver update, restart.

What is your computer ? Operating system ? DAW ?

Thanks waedl and Daniel.

Using Logic 9.8 and X 10.2 (depending on project) running on Mavericks. Yes, old. All my software works on it and I'm not inclined to upgrade. If still possible to update firmware, happy to try that.

Digital noise:

As opposed to constant hiss, hum or white noise, this is noise that is emitted only when there is audio content with audible volume, and it has the high frequency glitch/crackle of digital distortion.
