Topic: Fireface 800 + ARC USB = TotalMix Freezing

Hi everyone,

Here are my specs: Windows 10; RME Fireface 800 (driver version = 3.125); ARC USB connected to computer via USB; TotalMix v. 1.60.

Here is my issue: hooked up the ARC USB for the first time yesterday. Until now Fireface + TotalMix has been rock solid stable. The ARC will work when I boot up. But eventually TotalMix freezes, the ARC no longer communicates with it; and I have to shut TotalMix down.

Then, if I reboot TotalMix, the ARC no longer works. Sometimes if I disconnect the ARC USB input and plug it back in, it'll start working again. More often it doesn't.

It appears that only a full reboot gets everything up and running again, only to run into the same issue again in ~10 mins.

Suggestions?

Did you flash the ARC USB as well as the interface to the latest FW version? Did the trick with similar crashing issues on our rig (Madiface Pro on Mac, tho). Ah, and the most recent TM FX versions also improved stability with ARC, if i recall correctly (as you are running 1.60).

Latest driver 1.210 will give you TM FX 1.72.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, guys. It appears the issue is a faulty USB port, or that I was plugging into a USB 3.0 port. When I plug into a 2.0 port it seems stable.

Either way, I'll update the drivers etc. Thanks again.

Upsi ? This is the old USB driver not applicable for FF800.

On the download page of the UCX I only found a download link to V 3.125 with TM FX 1.6 from 25.02.2019.

And the last update in this thread " Latest driver updates FireWire" is from 09.11.2019:

If I didn't overlook something then it looks to me, as if no driver update is available for the Firewire driver
containing the latest TM FX v1.72.

Yeah that's what I thought. I grabbed TM 1.72 alone; but I think I have the updated driver for the FF800...
