Topic: Optical cable for RME Babyface Pro fs
Is there any cable that RME recommends for Babyface?

I have a Thomann sssnake that is nodding at the optical input, falling out.
I used many different and never had an issue.
Are you sure it is the cable and not the socket ?
I have a Joemeek twinQ compressor and the same cable goes in nicely,
while at the entrance to the Babyface the connection is wobbly and falls out.
Of course, I took off the protective rubber bands.
You have 4 plugs on two cables.
If all 4 plugs are wobbly in one socket but are good in the other 3 sockets then the socket is the issue and should get replaced by authorized service.
I owned a lot adat devices and the toslink cables has always clicked tight in.
There is something wrong I guess.
A toslink socket is a piece of plastic and once in a while a production machine can put out a blondie,
You still have guarantee ?
The optical in on my compressor has a groove on the left and right side that exactly matches the optical cable,
while the optical in on the Babyface Pro fs does not have that groove, but is flat on both sides.
That's why I asked this question. I bought RME a year ago,
I think the warranty should still be valid.
Here I posted the pictures:

All I see is a broken optical input port where the flap is missing. No wonder it doesn't hold the cable then.
It hurts my eyes, the baby has a damage. You should contact joemeek their twinQ compressor has damaged the Babyface Pro !

I was deceived by the optical output on the compressor,
so I thought that the small cover on the rim should be removed ...
My mistake!
Thanks for your reply!

This is my first experience with an optical input.
I had a multi-channel Fireface 800 before that, so I didn't need optics.
Now I’ve made a fool of myself, but every school pays.
Thank you for your help and for your witty suggestion!
