Topic: RME 802 analog inputs

Hello members, I had a quick question in regards of rme 802 analog inputs . Do I need a preamp to amplify the sound of the channel. I plug in a bass and guitar with no sound. This is a rookie question since I’m so used to using the 4 built in preamps . Thanks.

Re: RME 802 analog inputs

Of course you need a preamp for Bassguitar and guitar, the built-in preamps of the Ff802 !
Plug there in and give some gain until you have good signal in Totalmix or DAW input (while you play).
The signal level should be the point where you decide to use an aditional external preamp.
May you have a very powerful bass with active pickups,the sound is probably so loud you don't need a preamp and can handle it as line level signal...?

Yep!

@isaros123
You, also, need to switch the input you are using, for your guitar or bass, to "Inst"
Open TMFX, click at the "tool" button of the input you want, and there you can set it to "Inst".

Enjoy!
