Topic: Upgraded to MacOS 11.2.2, now Babyface Pro fs can't be seen

I just upgraded to MacOS 11.2.2, and then I downloaded the installers for the Driver and Flash updaters.

I ran the driver installer. The Fireface USB settings ui now shows Driver v3.24, which is correct.
But, I did not see the button appear in the security and privacy preferences. 
I reinstalled and rebooted a couple of times, no change.
I did the fix in the forum post, adding the RME team id to the trusted list.  It shows up when I query for it. so that's good.
But the Babyface still does not show up in Logic or the system preferences.

When I tried to run the Flash updater, it shows the current version is 128 and the new version is 129.  But clicking update does nothing, no matter what I highlight etc.  I powered the interface down and back up a few times, to no effect.

Totalmix is running, but I cannot open a mixer or matrix window.

Any help is appreciated

What Mac is it and what was the previous version of OS ?

It's a 2019 27" iMac, 3.6 GHz 8 core i9.
It was previously running Catalina (10.15).

Does the Fireface USB Settings dialog open and show all settings for the Babyface Pro?

I try to update from 11.2.1 to 11.2.2 but the update-procedure always aborts during download of the little update package ( 3,10 GB Americans are always minimalistic ) probably Apple refused that update because of unknown problems ?
I keep watching out and will post here.

It opens.  I think it shows all settings:

Can you (for a test) change the sample rate from 32kHz to 44,1kHz ?
Let's see if a connection is there...?

When I change the sample rate it doesn't complain, but I don't know how to tell if anything has happened in the Babyface.

I suspect it isn't working, as when I quit and restart Firefox USB Settings, the sample rate is back at 32k.

If I unplug the Babyface from the computer, Firefox USB Settings keeps acting like it is still there, but if I quit it won't start until I plug the interface back in.

The system information dialog on the iMac shows the Babyface on the USB buss, so something is working I suppose.

That's quite spooky. The BF found in the system and the Settings dialog opening shows that the driver is sucessfuly installed and working. Are you sure the BF Pro does not show up as audio device in the Audio MIDI Setup application?

Is the BF Pro maybe in CC mode? It must be in PC mode.

Update to 11.2.2 completed, Digiface USB works perfect.
The download of the update failed all the time.
Found a trick, restart the mac in safety-mode, holding down the shift-key during boot-up and then perform the update procedure.
It takes a lot time, over 30 minutes, finally done and the machine works fine as wanted.
RME-interface stable as granit, wonderful !

I hadn't thought to look in Audio MIDI Setup until now, but it doesn't show up there. 

I did check if the unit is in CC mode, I don't know what mode it was in at first, but it's definitely in PC mode now.

Maybe I'll try the safety mode startup thing.

This is indeed very spooky !
I have a feeling that 11.2.3 is coming soon with some more fixes for USB devices.
Keep the Baby in a safe place.

I backed up my system, and then 11.2.3 came out, so I did a regular update with that.  No change unfortunately.
I connected the BF to my Windows machine, and updated the firmware.  Plugged it back into the iMac, and it correctly sees that the firmware is at version 129. 

But... It still isn't seen properly.

Crap.  I guess I'll do a clean install of 11.2.3 .

I guess I'll do a clean install of 11.2.3 .

That is the last card to play.
Format disc and set up the computer from scratch.
Operating system and then the BF driver. Only.
