Topic: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

I couldn't update my Babyface Pro FS. When I click on Update, nothing happens. It does show that there's an update though. What gives? I'm using MacOS

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

What is the Mac OS in use ?
And what number is the firmware updater ?
What is the current version firmware on the BF ?

MacOS Big Sur,

From 33 to 34

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

Is the Babyface in class compliant mode or in PC mode ?
It should be pc mode.

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

It is in PC mode and it doesn't work. And sorry, but firmware is from 128 to 130. Thanks

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

The updater does recognize the BF and read the current firmware.
Is the USB settings opening ?
Totalmix ?
is the BF visible in the OSX system preferences audio settings ?

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

I wonder if it is a security issue. I’m on a pc and this firmware update caused windows to block it and I had to prompt it to ignore. This has never happened before with the firmware updates. In my case it could be a new win 10 security update that caused it. Worth checking Mac OS is not blocking it though.

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

It is worth checking if you have access to a mac.
But don't expect wonders, especially the newer OS are big security blocking enthusiasts.
But on the other hand it will work, as I got my old Babyface silver working fine under BigSur M1.

Re: [Solved] BF Pro Firmware Update failed

Thanks, I have finally managed to update it. Apparently some of the drives were not present in my computer. I've overlooked that.
