Topic: first post: User Interface

On menu item TotalMix FX/Options/Reset Mix/Straight playback :

Once such an option has been chosen, shouldn't it be nice to remember the configuration by having a check mark besides it ?

/* I wished to have an image inserted here but, as a qualified dumb beginner, I miss to understand the scheme I am quite sure not to comply with :
[img=fr6 bbcode check]/Users/fdiMac/Documents/AUDIO DOCUMENTS/RME/TOTALmix/Options Check box.jpg[/img]  */

Re: first post: User Interface

Within the img tags of the forum you need to insert an URL to the file stored on a cloud...
See here in my blog how you can do this:
https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … rum-EN-DE/

I think there is a misunderstanding here. Reset Mix is simply there to create a certain default setting to configure your own monitor mixes based on.
Once something is configured the way you want it, you can save the settings in one of the 8 snapshots (TM FX: right side).

Typical example would be a setup to route audio to the monitors (e.g. in snapshot 1) and another settings for sound output to headphones (e.g. in snapshot 2).

To avoid guesswork, it's worth watching the RME tutorial videos on the subject, which are very "to the point" and don't waste any time: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … al-Videos/

After that you have a good overview to get more information from the manual or also from my step by step guide for a first setup: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … rnal-equi/

The manuals from RME are very informative ... still the good old school, not so the usual bla bla on 5 pages.

This outputs - in Preview - an empty area with a '?' in the middle, which can be opened in a new window or dowloaded (Mac) : better than nothing.
In fact, "?dl=1" or "dl=0" both gives the ability to open in a new window, or to download.

Go for a ride with our iCloud : it does give the same weak ability.

Here, things don't work as easily as expected for a comfortable reading of the post.

To be forgotten for a while, and go further for the rest of your answer later on.
Many thanks.

Re: first post: User Interface

Sorry, but there is nothing to see and a URL with 2x "https://" in it (at the behinning) is apparently invalid.

Re: first post: User Interface

I can acces the iCloud pic fine, but not the DropBox one.

WTH, I can't even select the DropBox URL to copy it. Seems there's something odd with the picture auto function.

When I copy the iCloud URL and paste it into a picture tag, it doesn't work either and behaves weirdly.

Ramses : there is nothing to see and a URL with 2x "https://" in it (at the behinning) is apparently invalid.

This is what had been inserted between the two img, /img tags
          https://www.dropbox.com/ concatenated with
          s/n7hyo91dg8pm88z/OptionsCheckbox.jpg?dl=1

Quite unfortunate there is nothing to see below  - unless click and open, or click and download, the way it is working for me :

Re: first post: User Interface

You need to remove the question mark and everything following to get the DropBox URL to work...

Re: first post: User Interface

@ cyrano This is what I give to BBCode - without the '?' and after

[img]https://www.dropbox.com/s/n7hyo91dg8pm88z/OptionsCheckbox.jpg[/img]

which gives nothing desired  ... even if the picture is just two clicks underneath the question mark...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/n7hyo91dg8pm88z/

I deleted '?' and after, and going further I noticed removing the file extension doesn't destroy anything but doesn't make it either.

More :

is not so bad, but fails to display the image.

Well, I leave the non-essential subject aside, and go back to the main. See you later, many thanks.
