Topic: HDSPe AES AMD windows installation issue

Hi,
I just bought an unused AES card on the secondhand market.
Package arrived, and I installed it to a PCI express port as instructed.
However, upon boot, nothing was found.
I tried to install drivers, etc, did a total shut down with power removal, still nothing.
Tried to install it to a different PCI express slot, still nothing.

Then I tried the PCIe 3.0 x16 (x4-modus) , a much longer slot, but the same kind of dimensions at the far left of the port, this time windows found it.

My mainboard is the ASUS ROG Strix B550-F GAMING

Is this a known issue with this mainboard?
I was able to update the firmware to the latest version, I believe the old firmware was two numbers lower than the current one. Could this have anything to do with it not showing up on the normal PCIe slots?
Since it's now working in this slot, I haven't dared to move it again...:-)

Any input helpful! :-)

Hello!

This quote is from page 10 of your MoBo's manual:

PCIEX16_2 shares bandwidth with PCIE1_1, PCIEX1_2 and PCIEX1_3. When
PCIEX16_2 runs x4 mode, PCIEX1_1, PCIEX1_2 and PCIEX1_3 will be disabled.
PCIEX16_2 WILL RUN x1 mode when PCIEX1_1, PCIEX1_2 or PCIEX1_3 is occupied.

You could try setting PCIEX16_2 to x1 mode, manually, from your BIOS and then try fitting the AES in its proper port!

Thanks a lot!
I'll try this and report back!
I'm not very technical on the motherboard level of things....:-)
