Topic: [Solved] Can't hear FX in totalmix when "EQ+D For record" disabled

Hi there,

I just purchased the Fireface UCX

I am having this issue where I simply want to hear the EQ and Comp when recording and not print but when I disable the option I hear no FX at all.

I'm sure it's a setting I must have overlooked but I am reading the user's guide and can't seem to find the solution.

I am recoridng in studio one.

Is Loopback activated on the output ?

I've tried it with both on and off in the main output but it does not affect anything.

I can still record but I can not hear the effects.

I uploaded an image here of my settings

The moment i click and re-enable "EQ+D For record" I can hear the room noise flare-up since the compressor is on.
when it's off I hear just the raw vocal.

Are you listening the input of the Studio One software or the main output of Totalmix ?

Re: [Solved] Can't hear FX in totalmix when "EQ+D For record" disabled

I have my main speakers in output 1 and 2 on the ucx and in studio one I set the main out to that except when I'm recording I select output 7/8 since that's the headphones.

Re: [Solved] Can't hear FX in totalmix when "EQ+D For record" disabled

Your Totalmix photo shows that you didn't assign the headphones yet.
The Assign button is on the right side bottom there you have to assign phones1 to PH7/8.
Next thing on your photo, you have a input signal in mic 1 but not on the main output.
you have to route your mic to the output.
Click the main output channel, it should become highlighted, it is activated now for receiving signals.
Pull up the fader of the mic input channel.
be aware that the microphone can produce a terrible feedback.

Better close down the main output and use the headphone at moment.
Click the headphone output channel and route the mic signal there.

Before overconfusing you, please refer to Youtube and watch RME Totalmix videos. All you can find.

To clarify this again: you listened to the monitoring output of Studio One. If you want to hear the TM FX effects (without recording them) then you need to listen to the input via TotalMix FX - as explained by Waedi.

Re: [Solved] Can't hear FX in totalmix when "EQ+D For record" disabled

Thank you guys for helping I really appreciate it!

Apparently, it was because I had it in DAW mode.

Once I selected the full mode it was working properly without printing FX.
