Topic: TotalMix FX Master Fader - Controllable?

Hi, I'm sure this has been asked somewhere, I apologize for a repeat question.

Love TotalMix FX, I'm all set up. NOW, while MIDI composing I just need to control master volume... I can with my iPad and the TotalMix FX app, but is there any way to assign a hardware control to TotalMix FX running on my PC? Or do I need to control the main output in my  (or use Control Room in Cubase for example)? I really just need a knob on my MixFace or keyboard controller and my Babyface Pro sits back on my desk, hard to reach due to 88-key controller across. Maybe the solution is rearrange to reach the Babyface Pro? Just need to know if the TotalMix FX master fader is assignable

Thanks!

Paulie

Re: TotalMix FX Master Fader - Controllable?

The hardware output set up as Main Out can be controlled by the standard Control Change Volume via MIDI channel 1. With this, the main volume of the Babyface Pro is controllable from nearly any MIDI equipped hardware device.

I will look into that! Didn’t even dawn on me to try to automate the babyface itself.  Thank you!

I did copy the text above from the user manual of babyface Pro FS, page 69, if you have non-FS Babyface you may check your user manual, 24.1 Midi control section.

No, I have the FS... now I’m sitting here asking myself the question, why didn’t I just look in the user manual, LOL!
