Topic: How to add 8 additional analog inputs to FIREFACE UCX

What I am trying to do is add the maximum 8 analog inputs to my Fireface UCX in a half rack form factor.

So far, the only units I read for sure that can do this in half rack format are the SM Pro Audio Q-ADAT and the Fostex VC-8, both of which are nearly impossible to find, and I would prefer to use an RME unit.

Does the Multiface do this via toslink cable?
What about the Fireface 400?

Are there other solutions I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance

My point goes to the FF400
But you have to get access to a computer with firewire port for configure the FF400 for standalone adat converter.
The Multiface can't store settings. It must be under power all the time for keeping the routing and the clock setting.

I use an older ADI 8-DS.

Then the UC or UCX could be an option to have an USB based recording interface.
2nd UCX could also serve as backup for the primary unit.

Sorry, but he asks for half rack form factor. ADI-8 DS is a 19" unit.

Thanks. I must have been sleeping.
