Topic: RME AIO PRO - headphones can be connected to the analogue outputs?

Hello dear RME team,

I now have the RME AIO PRO card.

Since I use the AES output of the AIO PRO for my monitoring system (Neumann KH80DSP + KH750DSP), I still have the analogue outputs free.

Since I would like to use 2 headphones with the AIO Pro, I would like to know if I could use the analogue output of the AIO Pro as a headphone output with an adapter cable (2x XLR male to 1x stereo jack).

If this is not possible, I could only use the normal headphone output of the AIO Pro with a Y-splitter adapter cable.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards

Yes no problem.
If you use a Hi-z headphone then the music might be not so loud.

Re: RME AIO PRO - headphones can be connected to the analogue outputs?

Hello waedi,

thanks for the quick feedback.

I wanted to use 32 Ohm headphones on the analogue outs of the AIO PRO.

Just to clarify, I wanted to use the headphones with an adapter cable on the RME BO9632 breakoutcable where the analogue XLR outs are.

This should not be a problem - that would be perfect.

But first I have to find an adapter cable 2x XLR male to 6.35mm jack socket.

Many many thanks in advance I hope this works without problems

I was looking for such a cable and couldn't find.
Now this is in use :

together with two adapters :

It is robust and works fine.
May you have more success and you find a one-piece-solution.

Hello waedi,

yes I have found one, I am very good at research.

That would be the following cable:

do you also use the RME AIO PRO?

Re: RME AIO PRO - headphones can be connected to the analogue outputs?

No, it is for a adat converters Line-out,
the AIO has the benefit of the level settings, you can make your signal a lot louder than normal line level, it will work very good for a headphone.
