Topic: Accidentally stapled my AC power cord (UFX+)

The subject line is pretty clear - I was trying to secure the power cable from encroaching on the audio cables running to my interface, and somehow the staple came out of the gun a little further left than the guide indicated.

I was able to find a replacement from RME-shop.com: https://www.rme-shop.com/acatalog/RME-- … ml#SID=113, but it would be shipping from Germany for $45 USD, altogether.

I was just curious to know if anyone has any thoughts or alternatives before committing to spending $45 for a misplaced staple.

You may want to use this as a starting point: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=power+cable+iec320

You could just repair the stapled cable?

So I did some looking for other YP12 to YC12 cables, but couldn't find any of the same gauge. I figure any will work, but I feel like the gauge being fairly particular serves a purpose. idk.

I guess my hesitance on that front is the fear that I'd only harm it further.

The 'gauge' doesn't matter at all. Any such cable will work.

Ah, ok. I didn't know if it was something that aided in countering noise floor or not. I appreciate the response.
