Topic: [Solved] How to get AES output working (UFX+)

Yo!

I'm currently struggling with getting the AES digital output working for my monitoring. I was wondering if anyone has any basics or tips on what I should be looking for when troubleshooting this. I've been going through and trying a couple of things (regular XLR mic cables and DMX 110 ohm cables, different software settings) but so far unsuccessful.

Previously had some Vanatoos I was feeding with optical SPDIF from the 2nd optical out.

Any ideas are welcome.

EDIT: PROBLEM FIXED.  RME was not the problem.

What are those monitors ?
Is it possible there is a dip-switch setting on the backside select AES XLR or SPDIF coax ?

Genelec 8330a.  No dip switches.

Do you use the GLM software that is mentioned in the user manual of the Genelecs ?
And you have done the routing of a signal to the AES output in Totalmix ?

Problem fixed.  It was, in fact, GLM being weird.  I ended up factory resetting the monitors, as well as using GLM to shut down and wake up the monitors afterwards, and then the digital input worked immediately on wake up.  Haha.

At least you are allowed to use your own loudspeakers without password and online authorization.
Just wondering why a loudspeaker needs a software.
Congratulations for having it working.
