Topic: Monitoring metronome in headphone channels

I am new to RME products and recently acquired an RME 802 which uses outputs 9 thru 12 for headphones.  I am using a Windows computer and Studio One ver 5 is my DAW.
I am trying to get my arms around Total Mix FX.

When recording I am able to monitor and record using my near field monitors without any issues.   When I plug into the headphone jack representing channels 9 and 10, I am able to monitor tracks properly.   However, I cannot monitor my DAWS metronome  in the said channels for the headphones.  I can render a click track and monitor the audio created through the headphones.

How can I route my metronome to the headphone channels?

Re: Monitoring metronome in headphone channels

That must be done in the DAW.
You can create a track with the metronom.

It should be possible to send that track to a own output channel, then you have the metronom on a seperate track in Totalmix.
From there it is simple Totalmix routing from software playback channel to any desired hardware output channel.

Re: Monitoring metronome in headphone channels

I have no problem rendering a click track in Studio One, but that is not my objective.   I want to monitor the metronome.  For instance, I would like an audible precount.

Re: Monitoring metronome in headphone channels

You still need to send the click to the right output. In Cubase you can choose which output the click is sent to. You can’t choose this in TotalMix

Re: Monitoring metronome in headphone channels

I solved the problem myself.  Totalmix did not save my mix but rather reset the faders on software input.   All I needed to do was raise the fader.
