Topic: Fireface UCX II sonic performance

I'm currently using Fireface UCX in a high end home theater / stereo application and wondering if it's worth upgrading to Fireface UCX II.
I am wondering how the sonic performance is going to be as a dac compared against ADI-2 DAC FS, or would It be better to buy a seperate dac such as ADI-2 DAC FS?
I know they are two different products, but still ....

Sound wise ... pls see my comment here: https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.ph … 18#p172118
and here: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … ses-EN-DE/

I would integrate either ADI-2 Pro FS R BE or ADI-2 DAC FS into the existing setup:

In this article you can see different reasons, why I would propose to get the ADI-2 Pro FS R BE:

You can connect it to the UCX using one of its digital ports and act as clock slave.
As my blog article points out the final D/A conversion is being done anyway locally on the ADI-* using its FS clock.
Its also very practicale to have State Overview, Bit-Test, etc etc see article.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, but did you misunderstand me?
I ask about the new upcoming (ucx ii) which will soon be in stores, and which also has SteadyClock FS

Re: Fireface UCX II sonic performance

No misunderstanding, in the other thread somebody also wanted to know whether device x or y sounds better.
My proposal (and I have reasons for that) was to test it yourself in your own environment as converter differences are in the area of "subtile" and hearing capabilities, rooms and speaker are very different.

You yourself asked next whether better to take the ADI-2 DAC instead.
And I gave you information how easy it is to integrate this device into an existing environment (keeping your old UCX).

Finally I tried to give you ideas, why I would perhaps choose the Pro .. this is covered in my latest blog article.
